Session Title: Are We Still Doing Women's Studies?

In recent years the focus of Women's Studies has shifted in many contexts from women to gender, and in some cases to sexuality as a general topic. Some feminists feel that Women's Studies programs are outdated or unnecessary, in fact, because the view of gender has changed. In this session we will examine this issue, but also re-assert the need for Women's Studies as a separate category from Gender Studies as a whole, within the contexts of both literature and composition studies.
