Republicans Against Bush

U.S. Sen. Lincoln Chafee, a Republican moderate from Rhode Island, said publicly Monday what other GOP lawmakers have admitted privately: he might not vote for President Bush in the Nov. 2 election.

Good for him! In a party that didn't even bother to field other candidates this time (uh yeah, Democracy) it is very pleasing to see someone stand up and say he won't support GWB. Being a Republican or a Democrat does not mean you have to mindlessly follow your superiors every move. Our government needs more people like Chafee who will take a stand.

Iraq Is Out Of Control

American intelligence professionals now admit the situation in Iraq is out of control and the country faces a nation-destroying civil war. Even worse, any chance for stability fades with each day of increasing violence and tension in the war-torn country.

Kobe Bryant

Guilty or not guilty, the Kobe Bryant rape trial has left me very disturbed. The way this young women was treated, the way many people automatically attacked her credibility and Kobe's for that matter, the whole aura of if you sleep with a few people you're a slut and asked for it
which comes out of cases like this where a women's sexual history is brought up. How disgusting is that? While we will never know most likely what did go on that night there is one thing I do know-Kobe Bryant owes an apology to all American women.
