Here is our next podcast. This is the recording of my 2011 lecture at Ocean County College on what I refer to as the "propaganda of privilege" in Intermodern England. George Orwell, Milk Raj Anand, and Virginia Woolf are discussed.
Podcast #6
Thesis Podcast #5
Here is the final portion of the podcast of my MA thesis. This was a blast to put together and I hope to do this more in the future.
Thesis Podcast #4
Here is part four of my MA thesis podcast.
Spring 2009 Papers
I did not take any classes in the spring of 2009, but I did wrap up my thesis and then graduate. The text of my MA Thesis defense is more or less taken from my working draft at the time. I may have added a bit at the beginning and end that is new. I gave it one more revision after that and then submitted the final version maybe a week later.
The next morning I returned to campus so I could participate in a panel on publishing as a graduate student. I gave some brief remarks and then joined a discussion.
Spring 2008 Papers
In the spring of 2008, I only took one class. This was a hard semester due to some real life issues. I gave a presentation in class on the role of intertextuality in Mrs. Dalloway . My seminar paper continued this line, but also included the role, as a contrast, of geography in Arnold Bennett's Anna of the Five Towns . Toni Magyar and I also gave a talk about our symposium entitled What Is a Text? A Political History of Texts From Gutenberg to Electronic Literature and Beyond. This would be the last time Toni and I ran the symposium. There were some serious hiccups with this one and a few problems came up that really turned me off from continuing to work on it.
Fall 2004 Papers
Two papers from the fall of 2004 to note. Both are from my Educating Students With Disabilities class...
- A review of the film The Wizard where I critique how it portrays autism.
- A lesson plan for teaching MLA citation to a classroom of students with ADHD.
